Azure Landscape Rug
This rug is hand hooked incorporating a variety of yarn in various colours, content & textures. The colours include white, blue, grey & antique white. The yarn varies from wool to acrylic. I have made a few rugs when I was a teen but this was one of the first since. The process was a journey exploring colour & texture. The time & effort involved, renewed my respect for rug makers and the amount of work and energy they apply to their craft. Every piece of yarn is handled quite a bit before it becomes a small fraction of a rug. I can imagine some of the huge rugs that exist taking a lifetime of collective hours to complete.
This rug is meant to be a functional art piece to enjoy for many years. The recommended placement is at the side of your bed as the first thing that touches your feet when you get out of bed in the morning. The pile is textured at varying heights, it is plush and a dream to feel beneath your feet. Being beside your bed will mean that your rug will have gentle usage and it will have great longevity. It will be appreciated especially for the tactile quality and it will be enjoyed by you first in the morning and right before you go to sleep.
This rug is 27 " x 35 " The pile varies up to 2 1/2 " in height.
